Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Building out a data science framework that allows clinicians, healthcare administrators, researchers, and analysts to ask complex questions about healthcare data and obtain answers that improve patient and financial outcomes.
  • Contributing to the cloud-based Django web application and backend.
  • Developing connections to varied clinical systems to obtain data and transforming that data into meaning, via natural language processing and complex visualizations.
  • Contributing to product resiliency and scalability, allowing fault-tolerant operation as the product rapidly grows.
  • Ensuring high standards of application security, unit testing, and software quality.
  • Efficiently interacting and communicating with distributed engineering and support teams
  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

Minimum years of work experience: 3-5 Years

Required skills:

  • Strong background working on complex Python web applications, preferable with Django. Must have solid understanding of Python standard library and common open source Python packages.
  • Thoroughly understands HTTP, REST, and SQL, including performance optimizations and security of these technologies.
  • Strong Linux command-line proficiency.
  • Thorough knowledge of git, including git flow, branching, and rebasing.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Data science experience using tools like keras, tensorflow, pandas, scikit-learn.
  • Frontend experience with modern Javascript (ES6) and modern frameworks like React.js.
  • Experience with healthcare data & protocols (e.g. HL7) is a major plus.
